The role of the practical trainer is one of multiple interconnected disciplines. This Online Trainer Certification, has been designed for those interested in beginning or furthering existing careers in quality adult education. Over the course of six intensive modules, candidates are gradually guided the adult learning process in general, before exploring a variety of personal/professional development strategies. Along with effective stress-management techniques and essential time-management insights, train the trainer courses online, teach you how to plan effective workshops, communicate more efficiently and handle challenging situations/individuals.

This online trainer certification program, is delivered over six in-depth modules:
Module 1 – Understanding Learning
The opening course module introduces candidates to the subject of adult learning in general, incorporating an overview of the key duties and responsibilities of the professional practical trainer. Course content explores a series of different learning styles, along with the key competencies required to succeed as an adult educator.
Module 2 – Increasing Your Expertise
The importance of increasing expertise and continuous development in general represents the primary core focus of Module 2. Candidates learn that in order to become a truly world-class practical trainer, personal training and development must be viewed as ongoing processes at all times. Additional related concepts introduced include effective learning materials, courseware customisation, copyright considerations, motivation and more.
Module 3 – Stress Management Training
Course content in Module 3 focuses on essential stress-management training, exploring effective techniques for dealing with stressful situations and how to enhance/refine personal resilience. Candidates discover how effective problem-solving competencies can reduce stress and anxiety, along with the value of various relaxation techniques.
Module 4 – Planning a Workshop
The core fundamentals of planning professional workshops follow in Module 4, incorporating an investigation of various tools and resources of use to the practical trainer. Along with the most important elements that build successful workshops, candidates also explore a variety of associated challenges.
Module 5 – Your Role as an Effective Communicator
Course Module 5 discusses the role of the practical trainer as an effective communicator, bringing to light the importance of strong and consistent communication in adult education. Along with an overview of Kirkpatrick's Levels of Evaluation, candidates discuss how to lead conversations, professional knowledge evaluation, impact evaluation and more.
Module 6 – Dealing with Difficult Situations
Bringing the course to a close, Module 6 guides candidates through a variety of difficult situations associated with adult learning/workshops. Course content explores the anticipating, pre-empting and addressing of problematic scenarios, both within the workshop setting and while working as a practical trainer in general.
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievementby ABC Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all the units you have completed as part of your course).
The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme. This means that OHSC has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet certain quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future. The unit summary can be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this sector. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 3 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of difficulty involved in successful completion by the learner.
