Which course should you take first?

If you are new to fashion design, begin with Fashion Design (Short Course). Its three topics give you a vocabulary for looking at a design and considering how its elements work together. Try applying what you learn to a garment you own: notice the visual choices and ask how they affect its overall look.

Choose AI in Fashion Design if you already have an interest in the creative process and want to explore AI-assisted forecasting or design ideas. Choose AI in Fashion Marketing if you are more interested in customer preferences, campaigns and predicting demand. You can take more than one, but there is no requirement to follow a fixed sequence.

AI-generated suggestions still need human judgement. When considering a trend prediction or a personalised recommendation, ask what information it is based on, whom it might overlook and whether the result suits the intended audience. The courses provide an introduction to these subjects; experience with tools and original work takes additional practice.

What does “free” include?

You can enrol, access the online course materials and complete these short courses without paying a course fee. The free short courses do not by themselves award an Ofqual-regulated qualification, confer professional status or guarantee a job in fashion. If an employer or college asks for a particular credential, check its requirements directly.
