This intermediate Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Team Leader Skills takes place over a series of six insightful modules - each concluding with an online assessment for submission to your assigned tutor:
Module 1 - Effective Leadership
The course begins by both defining leadership and discussing the hallmarks of effective leadership in an organisational setting. Candidates learn how to smooth their transition to a leadership role for the first time, while exploring the various different types of leadership, typical responsibilities in a leadership role and how to establish goals using the SPIRIT methodology.
Module 2 - Defining, Evaluating and Managing Teams
Module two focuses heavily on building and maintaining team trust, guiding candidates through the process of establishing what kind of team player there are. The potential pros and cons of working as a team are also examined, along with the various different types of teams and their defining characteristics.
Module 3 - Developing a High-Performing Team
Candidates are then presented with the concept of the high-performing team, along with the five most important stages on the path to high-performing team development. The defining characteristics of effective team players are also discussed, along with how teams can help employees grow and the importance of proactively assisting team member development.
Module 4 - Strategic Planning
The team leader’s involvement in strategic planning is discussed in module four, which focuses heavily on the advantages of effective delegation. The five levels of delegation are presented and examined, along with the importance of accountability and the various applications of SWOT analysis in a leadership role.
Module 5 – Managing Change in the workplace
Module five explores the wide-reaching benefits of strategic change management, in which candidates learn how to prepare for and embrace change in the workplace. Several key factors in successful change planning are discussed, along with how to create a step-by-step plan for change and a series of associated time management tips and tricks.
Module 6 – Managing Conflict in the workplace
In the sixth and final unit, candidates are introduced to the concept of workplace conflict and the five most common conflict resolution styles. The ‘needs and assumptions model’ is also presented and discussed, along with a breakdown of the conflict resolution process and how to implement an effective strategy for conflict resolution.
