The fourth module examines the responsibilities of facilities management personnel in emergency preparedness, along with the importance of planning ahead for all possible eventualities.  Learners consider the importance of approaching emergency planning as a continuous process, while discussing each of the three primary emergency categories and the potential consequences of poor emergency planning.

Module 5. Facility Security Management

A detailed introduction to facility security management follows in module five, which outlines the primary objectives of security management and the associated responsibilities of the facilities manager.  The four most important security planning areas are discussed, along with the role communication plays in security management and the effects technology has on general organizational security management.

Module 6. Sustainability and Use of resources

Bringing the course to a close, module six discusses the strategic use of resources and the importance of prioritizing sustainability.  Candidates learn how to establish achievable and measurable sustainability targets, along with the business-wide benefits of running a sustainable organization.
