Module 1 – Introduction to Business Management

Module 3 – Getting Your Product Together
Module three turns attention to the primary products or services the business provides, along with essential target audience considerations. Candidates explore various tools and techniques for effective inventory management, the importance of consistent quality control, how to build and develop a strong brand image, the art of effective slogan development and more.
Module 4 – Marketing Your Product
A crash-course introduction to marketing and advertising follows in module four, which incorporates a detailed breakdown of the professional marketing plan. Candidates learn how to conduct essential market research, identify a target audience and use contemporary digital channels like social media to maximise the impact of a marketing message.
Module 5 – Strategic Planning
The importance of thorough and continuous planning is examined in module five, which provides a detailed overview of the ‘strategic planning pyramid’. Learners also study the art of effective money management in business, along with the benefits of proactive succession planning and a series of ethical considerations.
Module 6 – Building a Strong Customer Care Team
Module six details the limitless value of a capable and committed customer support team, exploring the relationship between customer care quality and a brand’s wider performance. Subtopics covered include customer relationship development, the benefits of nurturing customer loyalty, the provision of effective employee training and the cornerstones of quality customer care.
Module 7 - Motivating Employees
A series of effective motivational techniques and strategies are introduced in module seven, which explores the effect employee motivation (or otherwise) can have on the business. Effective incentivisation methods are discussed, along with the importance of building a motivated working culture and how to address issues with demotivation in the workplace.
Module 8 - Managing Change
Module eight discusses both the importance and inevitability of change in a business environment. Candidates learn how effective change management is the key to success in an organisational setting, studying each component of the ‘Change Cycle’ and the potential consequences of adopting a passive approach to change.
Module 9 - Managing Time
Personal and professional time management techniques are outlined and explored in module nine. A variety of helpful time-prioritisation and workload-management strategies are examined, along with a breakdown of the SPIRIT model – Specific, Prizes, Individuals, Review, Inspiring, Time-Bound. Several useful time-planning tools and resources are also discussed.
Module 10 - Managing Conflict
A detailed exploration of workplace conflict follows in module 10, discussing how effective conflict management is essential for nurturing positive outcomes. Some of the most common causes of workplace conflict are examined, along with an introduction to the ‘assertiveness formula’ and the importance of proactive, self-administered anger-management in business.
Module 11 - Risk Management
Concluding the course, module 11 discusses how the effectiveness of a risk management strategy can make or break the entire organisation. Candidates learn how to plan and implement a comprehensive risk assessment, categorise and prioritise identified risks, avoid severe risks where possible and generally monitor/manage risks that cannot be avoided.
