Module 3 – Housekeeping, Engineering and Security
An overview of essential housekeeping, engineering and security duties/responsibilities follows in the third course module. Along with exploring the management and provision of essential housekeeping duties, candidates are guided through several guest/building security issues, hotel maintenance and more.
Module 4 – Managing Food and Beverage Operations
Course content in Module 4 centres on the provision and management of food and beverage from the perspective of the modern hotel. Along with assessing the needs of guests and the current market in general, candidates explore basic restaurant layout and design, deployment of personnel, menu planning and more.
Module 5 – Human Resource Management
Building and maintaining the strongest possible teams represents the primary core focus of Module 5. Along with an introduction to the recruitment process, candidates are guided through a series of critical training and development teachings. How forward planning contributes to success and the enormous importance of flexibility among a hospitality team are also outlined.
Module 6 – Marketing and Advertising
Bringing the course to a close, the final module focuses on marketing and advertising. Essential subtopics covered include an overview of the marketing mix, workable hotel pricing strategies and how to identify a target audience. The module guides candidates through pre-empting customer demands/expectations and generally how to succeed in the hospitality industry.
