Writing Skills Course

Contrary to popular belief, the internet revolution has only intensified the call for those with outstanding-quality writing skills.  The written word has never had more power or influence across every imaginable business and industry sector.  From high-level marketing strategies to inter-business communications and so much more, advanced writing competencies are of genuinely priceless value in a contemporary corporate setting.  Nevertheless, genuinely remarkable writing skills are still a comparatively rare asset. As such, those with the relevant education and backgrounds have a serious advantage over the competition.

This writing skills course,  builds on existing writing skills of a moderate level with highly-specific business-focused insights.  With no specific business-writing competencies or experience required, candidates are gradually guided through the most important elements of world-class writing techniques from a contemporary corporate perspective.  Three intensive course modules begin with an overview of the ‘Four Cs of Writing’, before introducing candidates to a series of essential writing technicalities.  Course content of this creative writing course, also explores a variety of crucially important business documents, along with how to effectively proofread written communications.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to pursue or enhance existing positions in almost any area of business, or set up solo as a self-employed freelance writer.

This creative writing online course, is delivered over three in-depth modules:

Module 1 – The Four Cs of Writing

The course begins by introducing candidates to the comprehensive importance of Clarity, Conciseness, Correctness and Completeness – aka the ‘Four Cs of Writing’.  Along with effective error-detection and prevention techniques, candidates explore cliché-avoidance, what constitutes genuinely professional-level writing and the core elements that make up the outstanding written document.

Module 2 – Writing Technicalities

Course content in Module 2 focuses on a series of crucial writing technicalities, which must be mastered and cohesively-interlinked by the professional writer.  Along with a broad overview of emphasis and rhythm, the mechanics of efficient and effective sentence structure are discussed, along with the importance of coherence and how to create professional-quality paragraphs.

Module 3 – Preparing Business Documents

Bringing the course to a close, Module 3 provides candidates with an in-depth exploration of several crucially important business documents.  Various communication types are dissected and investigated at length, along with the specifics of professional business report writing and a variety of effective and efficient document editing/proofreading techniques.
