Unit 4: How to Maintain Facial Skin Conditions

Facial skincare is discussed in further detail in module four, which covers the process of preparing the skin to receive topical treatments and how to perform a high-quality facial.  Learners study skin cleansing techniques, exfoliation and moisturisation, along with when and how to recommend a variety of topical treatments.

Unit 5: How to Maintain Facial Skin Conditions (Continued)

Module five continues the exploration of common facial skin conditions, turning attention to facial mask therapy and professional facial massage techniques.  A variety of common facial masks and their benefits are discussed, along with how to apply and remove a facial mask. 

Unit 6: Preparing for the Application of Make-up

Candidates are then provided with a crash-course introduction to professional makeup application skills, including how to prepare both the work area and the client for the application of makeup.  Learners study the application of concealing cosmetics, makeup products for the lips and eyes, how to master the art of contouring and more.

Unit 7: How to Apply Face Makeup                  

Professional makeup application techniques continue in module seven, which focuses more heavily on corrective makeup and how to apply makeup to suit specific facial shapes and features.  The application of special occasion makeup is also studied, along with photographic makeup, how to work with false eyelashes and more.                                                                               

Unit 8: How to Maintain Healthy Hair

Module nine turns attention to haircare, guiding candidates through the process of professionally cleansing, conditioning and protecting clients’ hair from harm.  A series of popular hair styles and styling techniques are also introduced, along with how to identify common conditions that may affect the hair and/or scalp.

Unit 9: Remove and Lighten Hair Using Temporary Methods

An introduction to temporary hair removal and hair lightening methods follows in module nine, in which candidates learn how to work with a variety of hair removal tools and products.  Sugaring, depilation and warm wax application methods are all outlined in detail.

Unit 10: Step by Step Manicure and Pedicure Procedures

The penultimate module guides candidates through the process of performing professional-level manicure and pedicure skills for clients.  The tools and materials required to perform manicures and pedicures are discussed, along with supplementary treatments for the hands and feet, the application of nail polish to a professional standard and more.

Unit 11: Beauty Salon Management

Concluding the course, module 11 discusses the process of establishing and running a successful beauty therapy business.  Learn how to market your brand, recruit and train employees, build strong customer relations and run a profitable company in this competitive sector!
