Course content in Module 4 centres on the most important systems and strategies in contemporary environmental management. Subtopics introduced include environmental trade shifts, effect measurement, impact assessment, environmental accounting, the environmental audit, energy efficiency, ISO standards and the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) approach.
Unit 5 - Environmental Law
This unit outlines the statutory regimes for the control of pollution. It also discusses the main legal requirements for the management of waste in detail. In this unit the students also explore main legal requirements for the management of water.
Unit 6 - Environmental Policy
Unit 6 discusses the key requirements for an environmental policy and Identifies the key considerations that should be taken into account when developing an environmental policy.
Unit 7 - Implementation-Improving Environmental Performance
This unit discusses the manager's role in setting, monitoring and communicating objectives and targets in detail. The unit also Identifies suitable operational controls to improve environmental performance.
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
