This health and safety at work course, is delivered over five in-depth modules:

Module 1 – Safety in the Work Place - An Introduction

The course begins with an insightful introduction to health and safety in the workplace from a contemporary corporate perspective.  The value and importance of creating and managing safe working cultures is discussed, alongside the establishment of workplace safety committees and how to organise/chair effective meetings.  Course content also introduces key health and safety resources and several important governing bodies.

Module 2 – Identifying Hazards

Hazard identification takes precedence in Module 2, focusing specifically on various common examples of hazards in the workplace and what it is that distinguishes a risk from a hazard.  Effective risk assessment techniques are also discussed, alongside how to professionally identify and register/address risks and hazards.

Module 3 – Resolving Hazards

Course Module 3 provides candidates with an overview of professional techniques and strategies for resolving identified hazards.  Additional subtopics discussed include the appropriate use and provision of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), safe working practices, engineering controls and more.

Module 4 – Taking Proactive Measures

The following course module focuses primarily on the value and importance of taking proactive measures when addressing health and safety concerns.  A variety of core concepts are discussed, along with how health and safety should be incorporated in recruitment processes, the way in which different groups of workers are exposed to different risks/hazards, how to professionally approach/address employees with personal problems and more.

Module 5 – Preparing and Implementing a Safety Plan.

Bringing the course to a close, the final module outlines the importance of the professional workplace safety plan, which is broken down into its core components and explored in-depth.  Candidates learn what must be included in a safety plan, how to approach and produce high quality plans, effective techniques for investigating incidents, how to respond to workplace incidents and how to go about essential workplace safety program reviews.
