The course begins by exploring the concept of conflict from a contemporary perspective, incorporating a discussion of the effects/potential consequences of conflict. Course content also takes a proactive look at the potential benefits that can arise from confrontation, the importance of maintaining reciprocal relationships and the role conflict plays as a communication method that in its own right.

The second module focuses on preventative measures as a means by which to limit or prevent conflicts from arising in the first place. Course content provides candidates with an overview of the Three Fs of conflict resolution – Facts, Frequency and Frustrated Relationships - along with the importance of acknowledging harmful misconceptions and how empathy plays a critically important role.

Course Module 3 discusses how effectively managing anger can enhance conflict resolution efforts, exploring how to proactively manage both personal anger and third-party anger. Candidates discuss the causes and triggers of challenging human behaviour, how to cope with criticism and several highly-effective self-protection techniques.

Bringing the course to a close, Module 4 provides candidates with a breakdown of helpful conflict-resolution techniques and associated theoretical teachings. Additional subtopics covered include self-change theory, the core elements of the conflict-resolution model, stress management, controlling negativity and better-handling personal thought processes.
