Course Content

This  public relations course consists of the following three units:

Unit 1 - PR as Planned Communication

The introductory course unit begins by guiding candidates through a broad definition of PR as a concept, before exploring the core elements of the PR planning process.  Candidates study and explore the advantages and value of comprehensive PR planning, along with the basics of environment analysis and several essential PR planning processes.

Unit 2 - Public Relations Process

Course Unit 2 focuses primarily on the public relations process, which is broken down into its core components and investigated in detail.  One of the core sub-topics in the unit is the importance of adapting professional PR strategies and tactics, in accordance with specific goals and challenges.  Candidates learn about internal, macro and external environments, along with several fundamental PR duties and tasks.

Unit 3 - Tools for Public Relations

Bringing the course to a close, Unit 3 turns attention to public relations tools and the effective use thereof.  Candidates explore a variety of corporate PR strategies, how to carry out effective opinion-polling and public research, the differences and similarities between public relations and advertising and many more insightful sub-topics.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement by ABC Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all the units you have completed as part of the course).
